Lightning & Thunder Rule
30/30 Rule. If you cannot count to 30 before another thunderstrike, LEAVE COURT AREA FOR 30 MINUTES. If after 30 minutes you can count to 30, you may continue playing. IF YOU SEE LIGHTENING EXIT IMMEDIATELY FOR 30 MINUTES. After 30 minutes, if no more lightening, you may continue playing.
Court Bookings
Members can reserve courts using Craigleith APP or by logging into www.craigleith.com.
Check posted schedules as some courts are reserved for house leagues, lessons, junior camps and special events.
Courts can be booked seven days in advance.
Unlimited bookings per week.
All players’ names must be entered onto the court booking prior to playing.
“Guest” & “TBD” cannot be listed once time of play has started.
If a booking does not list a minimum of two players, the booking member will be charged one guest fee.
No block bookings.
Please ensure you are playing on the court you booked.

*There are days that clinics, camps, leagues & events will not follow this preferred schedule*
Tennis Etiquette
Do not walk behind a court while a rally is in progress.
Move quickly past an active court when a pause in play occurs.
Close access doors immediately after entering or exiting the courts.
Return balls which come onto your court from another court as quickly as possible but always wait until their point ends.
Ball Hoppers are not permitted between 8am and 6pm or when leagues are in play. Maximum two players on the court when ball hoppers are being used. Hoppers can be borrowed from the tennis shack.
Please ensure that the gates to the courts are locked when you leave if you are the last to leave.
In consideration for others, please do not use loud or offensive language.
Use alcohol responsibly.
Keep the Club free of litter.
Dress Code
To maintain a standard of decorum and consistency in line with traditional tennis attire, all players are required to wear appropriate athletic clothing on the courts. Tops must provide full coverage and be designed as standard tennis or athletic shirts. Undergarments, including sports bras, crop tops, or similar garments intended as base layers, are not considered appropriate outerwear.
This policy applies equally to all players, regardless of gender, and is in place to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone.
Code of Conduct
Craigleith Tennis/Summer Club is dedicated to fostering a positive and respectful environment for members, guests, staff, and volunteers involved in the tennis/summer programs. We aim to promote sportsmanship, cooperation, and a sense of belonging, ensuring that all individuals feel safe and welcomed in our tennis community.
Members and guests are expected to understand and adhere to the following six core principles that guide our tennis programs:
trustworthiness,
respect,
responsibility,
fairness,
caring, and
good citizenship.
All tennis players must uphold these values and adhere to the
Tennis Code of Conduct outlined below:
1. Adhere to Tennis Rules and Etiquette
- Follow all tennis-related rules and regulations during practices, matches, and club events.
- Respect the specific rules of the facilities and venues where tennis activities take place.
2. Honour Program Agreements
- Abide by all waivers and agreements related to participation in the program.
3. Be a Positive Role Model
- Strive to exhibit leadership through positive behavior and sportsmanship, both on and off the court.
4. Show Respect and Courtesy
- Demonstrate respect, courtesy, and support for fellow members, guests, staff, and volunteers whether on or off the court.
5. Promote Sportsmanship and Well-being
- Always engage in sportsmanlike conduct and promote the emotional and physical well-being of all participants.
6. Resolve Conflicts Peacefully
- Address disagreements in a respectful manner, promoting fair resolution without resorting to hostility or violence.
7. Communicate Respectfully
- Communication should always be courteous and respectful, whether in person, online, or while representing the club.
Prohibited Behavior: Disrespect, bullying, and harassment in any form, whether physical, verbal, racial, or sexual, will not be tolerated, both on and off the court, including in person and online.
Confidentiality:
We recognize that reporting incidents can be difficult and the importance of confidentiality in handling any complaints. The confidentiality of all parties involved will be respected to the greatest extent possible during any investigation. Everyone involved in a complaint or investigation must maintain confidentiality. Breaches of confidentiality will be taken seriously.
Reporting Procedure:
If you feel that you or someone else has experienced inappropriate, disrespectful, or violent behavior, please follow these steps:
- Report on the Incident: Immediately report the incident to a coach, program manager, or supervisor. We encourage participants to speak with a parent or guardian, and parents/guardians should report any concerns to the Program Director.
- Investigation: The club will investigate the incident in a fair and timely manner. We will ensure that participants and their parents/guardians are kept informed throughout the investigation and resolution process.
Consequences:
Any behavior deemed a violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action at the discretion of the Club and/or Disciplinary Committee. Potential consequences include:
- Verbal Warning: A verbal notice to the individual involved, and the primary club member if applicable.
- Written Notice: A written warning to the individual involved and the primary club member.
- Suspension or Termination: In cases of more serious infractions, the Disciplinary Committee may suspend the individual from participation in programs, events, or competitions. The suspension length will vary based on the specific incident.
- Forfeiture of Results: The forfeiture of competition results, as determined by the official or coach.
- Suspension of Club Privileges: Temporary or permanent suspension of some or all club privileges, or termination of membership.
